About the event

Margaret (Peggy) Adams Parker, a liturgical artist and theological educator, will lead us in a discussion of the ways that visual images can help us as we turn our eyes and hearts toward Holy Week. In our first session, we’ll look at images from across centuries and cultures that depict Christ’s Passion. We’ll reflect on how these works of art might enlarge our understanding of the Biblical narrative and deepen our experience of the liturgies of Holy Week. In our second session, we will explore together the ancient devotional practice of praying the Stations of the Cross. We’ll look at the history of this spiritual discipline and ponder the reasons we might pray the Stations. Peggy will speak about what led her to create two sets of Stations. Join us Mondays, March 17 and 24. We’ll offer food/snacks at 6:30 pm, followed by Peggy speaking at 7:00 pm for about 45-60 minutes and then opening the floor to a Q&A.
