Prime Timers Social Group
Prime Timers are parish members in the prime of their senior years. The goal of the group is to provide an outlet for fellowship, faith formation, and service. The Lead coordinates with interested parties to plan and carry out events. Events are announced in our weekly e-news and worship bulletin.
Coffee Hour
Coffee Hour after the 10:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday provides an opportunity for fellowship among parishioners and guests. All are welcome.
Parish Picnics
Whether it be in spring or fall, Emmanuel’s parish picnic is all about food, fun, and fellowship in the great outdoors. The location varies as does the menu. We’ve gathered on the campus of Virginia Theological Seminary, a local park, and in our own backyard. Sometimes it is catered by food trucks and sometimes it’s a BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic) affair. The Guitar Circle strums as parishioners of all ages enjoy food, lawn games, and relaxed conversation.
Emmanuel social club
The aim of the Emmanuel Social Club is to provide an outlet for fellowship, faith formation, and service for all ages. From trivia nights, to Sunday brunch, activities are varied, fun and appeal to a broad range of ages and households. The Lead coordinates with interested parties to plan and carry out events. Events are announced in our weekly e-news and worship bulletin.
Parish Retreat
The parish “retreats” to Shrine Mont annually for an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle, spend time with one another in nature, join other families on the playground, explore the property including the labyrinth, join those who like to fish and hike, find a quiet place to read, or just sit in a rocker on the porch and observe all the activity. Cocoa & Carols
A December all ages joyful Advent event. The Bell Choir gets us started, followed by singing favorite carols of all kinds. In between the music, there is some fun and games. And to top it all off, there is a Crazy Christmas Sweater Contest – complete with prizes! And of course, cocoa and cookies too.
