Parish Engagement Opportunities

Review the many options below and join a team of fellow parishioners with the common call to serve. If one of these opportunities captures your interest, or you have questions, please contact the office and we will connect you with the appropriate Team Lead.

  • Acolyte
The youth of the parish can engage in the weekly Sunday service by carrying the cross to the altar and supporting the clergy with altar needs during the service. Generally scheduled for the 10:00 a.m. service, acolytes serve approximately once every 6 - 8 weeks.
  • Chalice Bearer
When communion is distributed, volunteers support the clergy by following distribution of the host with distribution of the wine via the chalice. A short training session is provided and volunteers are scheduled weekly for the 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. service.
  • Reader
Each Sunday at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services, volunteer members of the congregation read the lessons and the prayers of the people. The Team Leader coordinates a monthly schedule in advance. Guidance and practice are given to all interested.
  • Usher
Ushers are the smiling faces that greet you as you arrive each Sunday at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services. Usher duties include arriving 20 minutes prior to the service, welcoming and handing out bulletins to attendees, guiding attendees from the pews to communion, and being available at the back of the church for questions. The Team Leader coordinates a monthly schedule in advance. Guidance and practice are given to all interested.
  • Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a volunteer group whose ministry is to care for the altar, vessels, hangings, and altar linens of the parish. The Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for all services including weddings, baptisms, confirmations, and funerals. Altar Guild organizes weekly flower arrangements for the sanctuary and church décor at Christmas and Easter. Five teams share the responsibility on a rotating basis each Sunday.
